Oh hi there!

Publicity Room is an Edmonton based public relations and communications agency. We specialize in promoting fashion and lifestyle brands in Alberta.

Janis Galloway, Agency Director Janis is a graduate of MacEwan University’s public relations program and has worked in media and communications for 12 years with organizations and brands such as gravitypope, Simons, and the Art Gallery of Alberta. She has worked as a freelance writer with top media outlets including FLARE Magazine and the Edmonton Journal. Janis has developed an influential network of media, and is a go-to source for all things fashion in Edmonton. After almost a decade working in the non-profit sector, Janis launched Publicity Room recognizing a gap in public relations support for fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands in Western Canada. She believes the fashion industry holds an important key to change the world, if humans are considered above profit.

Caroline Gault, PR Director For the last decade, Caroline has walked polar sides of the PR and media world as both publicist and journalist. She spent five years as Alberta Editor for Canada’s largest fashion publication, FASHION Magazine, and freelanced for news outlets like the National Post and Avenue Edmonton. One of her most exciting interviews (and—if you can believe it—her first interview ever) was with Lady Gaga in 2008. She also started Social Seen , a weekly society column for the Edmonton Journal (which meant party-hopping for most of the week). In 2012, she joined the founding team for startup footwear company Poppy Barley and grew its online audience to 60,000 rallying ambassadors through tactful PR strategy, creative event concepts and thoughtful social media management. In five years as Director of Content & Community, she landed media exposure for the brand in both national and international news outlets, including the Globe and Mail, Vancouver Magazine, Toronto Star, Cityline, The Marilyn Denis Show, Redbook and Refinery29. Ten years in, Caroline thinks through multiple perspectives—consumer, business and media—before developing a communications strategy. She loves crafting the perfect pitch, catches thrills with every media placement, and often loses sleep over planning exciting campaigns.
